Night of the Living Dead

You’ve got your precious Walking Dead back on the air and various other zombie-related activities to choose from this month—but Brian Newell’s theater adaptation really brings the dead back to life before your very eyes. Resurrecting the plot behind the original George A. Romero low budget classic, the play captures the sensational fear of a zombie uprising circa the late 1960s, a time when massive political upheavals and tension rocked the country. With its retro drive-in horror aesthetic and iconic lines (“They’re coming to get you, Barbara!”), this is one of the most canonical films of its genre. Expect the familiar characters and twisted storyline, plus all the blood and gore in vibrant color and real time. This is an exceptional ghouls night out.

Fridays, Saturdays. Starts: Oct. 25. Continues through Nov. 16, 2013
