“My Grandpa was Bugs Bunny!” the Legacy of Chuck Jones and One Gray Hare

There’s almost nothing worse than living under a rich-and-famous relative’s shadow. For most, it's suffocating—but for a very select few, it's a privilege to celebrate. Craig Kausen, grandson of Chuck Jones, the animation director for Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd; and creator of the Roadrunner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin the Martian and Pepe Le Pew—in short, one of the most influential men in cartooning—celebrates his exquisite lineage in a way that makes us all jealous. As president of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity in Costa Mesa, Kausen frequently celebrates his Pop-pop’s genius, but in a rare treat today, he discusses the legend’s influence on animators, the industry and an entire generation. Say “What's up, Doc?” to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet a part of a real creative legacy.
