Misalliance

A biting drawing-room comedy filled with witticisms on marriage, Socialism and the “new woman” (women who refuse to partake in Victorian standards of repression and stuffiness), George Bernard Shaw’s searing comedy jabs a pointy finger into the stomach of tradition verses progressiveness during the turn of 20th century. Upper class snobbery is abound (the phrase “tennis anyone?” is thought to have originated in this play, making it the typecasting phrase of the snootier bunch) as all the wrong men chase all the wrong women, each headed for certain hilarious disaster. So, grab granny and the tween and bust a gut over the antics and generational misfirings from one of our most belovedly brutal playwrights.
