La Lucha De Las Mascaras

Finally, lucha libre has come back to…the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach? Don’t worry, the masked warriors of wrestling won’t be rampaging through the gallery slamming pictures over each other’s heads. But after 2 hours of non-stop action, only one luchador will be crowned victorious leaving five other competitors vanquished in his wake. Being an art museum and all, the event isn’t just about body slams and off-the-top-rope antics. Sergio Arau, rockero and A Day Without A Mexican film director, is exhibiting his lucha libre inspired La Vida es un Ring artwork. A tequila tasting is happening for the adults; food and drinks are available for everyone. There’s also a themed marketplace, photo booth, and autograph signings making for a real Luchamania!

Fri., Sept. 11, 7 p.m., 2015
