Jordin Sparks

Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood aside, it’s been obvious for a while that not winning American Idol is usually more lucrative than actually, y’know, winning. Chris Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson have been a lot more successful than Taylor Hicks and Fantasia Barrino. Three years after her victory, though, Jordin Sparks—still only 20—has made all the right moves career-wise, touring with the Jonas Brothers and Britney Spears (separately, though that would make for some intriguing tour bus stories), won an American Music Award, and endeared herself to her conservative fanbase by speaking out in favor of abstinence before marriage. Who knows when she’ll turn to the “trying to distance herself from her wholesome image” phase, but until then, she’s on her first headlining tour, with this Anaheim date rescheduled from May.
