Jimmie Vaughan

Jimmie Vaughan is a blues man's blues man. The Texas native is a greasy-haired, vintage-gear obsessed hot rodder whose guitar playing is surprisingly reserved for someone whose spent decades in the spotlight. After founding the Fabulous Thunderbirds in the 1970s with vocalist Kim Wilson, Vaughan struggled to make his mark on the music world. During his career, he's dealt with the experience of being eclipsed professionally by his younger brother Stevie Ray's rise to celebrity followed by his untimely death. But adhering to a "slow and steady" approach, Jimmie has persevered. This year he released an album of covers entitled Plays Blues, Ballads & Favorites. The 13-track collection features tunes from Willie Nelson, Little Richard and Roy Milton. With any luck, he'll descend on the Coach House like a gulf storm.
