It’s the Humidity

It's been nearly three years since Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, and the city is still recovering. It's been 75 years since an earthquake decimated Long Beach, but by now, things are pretty much back to normal, which is good news for the NOLA citizens making a stop there this weekend for the 22nd annual Bayou Fest. Showcasing zydeco, the infectious regional music that is almost impossible not to appreciate, a smattering of Southern blues and, of course, some delicious bayou cuisine (you will be forgiven if you decline to suck the juice out of a crawdad head-a culinary habit that may be more of a prank pulled on out-of-towners than an actual regional custom), Bayou Fest brings all the pleasures of N'awlinz, with none of the ineffectual government bureaucrats.
