Irish Holiday Festival

An Irishman, it’s said, is the only man in the world who’d step over 12 naked women to get to a bottle of stout. Well, we’d do the same—for pudding. For pudding, we grovel. For pudding, we abase ourselves. For pudding, we’ve even ignored Drew Barrymore beating on the door, hollering: “Open up, big boy, I’m hot to trot!” Hence, the Bowers is on our totally must-do list. Its splendiferous Irish Holiday Festival features traditional storytelling, dance, music (from button accordion star David Munnelly, ex-Chieftains), art, quilts and stockings, Christmas cakes and, uh, you know what. An extra plate to go, please. And, Daisy? Don’t bother us, we’re eating.

Sun., Dec. 11, 12-4 p.m., 2011
