Hold Tight

One person’s trash is another person’s pièce de résistance. Cold War Kids’ Matt Maust, appearing in the Hibbleton Gallery’s current show, “We Were a Handful,” likes to create pieces that appear as if they were found on the ground or ripped off the wall. “It’s not so much the subject that concerns me, but the idea of where it might have been found,” explains Maust. Also featured in the show are Syd Butler of indie-rock rocket scientists Les Savy Fav, Nate Warkentin and David Quon of Long Beach’s We Barbarians, and renowned musician/artist Richard Swift. Poet Derrick Brown will also be reading at the opening reception.
