We're not too sure about this band’s actual name—bohemian inexplicable yet somehow perfect—but they certainly know how to do what’s required from a local surf-garage rock outfit with reggae, blues and psychedelia in the mix. Five young white hippie-surf dudes aged 18 to 21 from Huntington Beach, the Hindu Pirates sing smart, sincere and fun. And they play tight. Think Jonathan Richman meets the young Rolling Stones or, well, all kinds of acts you like with energy and groove. We trust they’ll play from their first CD, Pelican Daze, for this free concert at the OC-Parks-meets-KROQ ROQ’N Surf summer music series. Get there early as this band has a following, which will soon include you. Prepare to pogo.
