'Hey, Boo: Harper Lee & To Kill a Mockingbird'

The age-old literary mystery of why author Harper Lee published only one novel—the Pulitzer Prize-winning To Kill a Mockingbird—is examined by documentarian Mary McDonagh Murphy in this new film making the rounds in major U.S. cities this month. Lee gives no interview herself, but her friends speak up, including her 99-year-old sister, Alice, and the film features rare photographs, documents and biographical details that reveal Lee’s life and peculiar relationship with Truman Capote. This exclusive Long Beach screening also includes beer and wine refreshments, so slip on your intellectual beret and sip some Cab while learning about one of the most enigmatic authors of our time.
