We can always count on the Found Theatre to stage the weirdest, most original productions this side of The Gong Show, and it appears they’ve done it again. Turning tales inside out is their specialty (if they ever resurrect Donner Party: The Musical, see it), and this time around we find that traditionally bubble-headed blondie Cinderella isn’t quite as stupid and submissive as she used to be. Set in our modern, digital-age Mecca, Cindy decides she’s pretty much had it with her lazy stepmother and media-addicted stepsisters, and it doesn’t seem like the hapless Fairy Godmother or dippy Bachelor Prince will be of much help either—next stop, CEO of a glass footwear fashion house? Get it, grrrrrl.
