Harold and Maude
Sometimes its hard not to feel depressed about life. Especially when your mother is a wickedly snobbish, egocentric woman obsessed with marrying you off to the first girl who shows interest. Such is the story of 20-year-old Harold, the awkward protagonist of the 1979 cult classic Harold and Maude . Faced with these gloomy prospects, Harold does what any young man would do: spends his free time attending funerals and pretending to commit suicide in front of his prospective wives. Until he meets Maude, an eccentric 79-year-old artist who opens his eyes to the beautiful quirks of life. Witness the sparks fly in this May-December romance at the Regency South Coast Village Theater. Side note: You might want to leave grandma at home for this oneyou wouldnt want anyone in the audience to get the wrong idea.
