If you're hoping for something a little more “kid-friendly” this New Year's (alcohol-swilling and late-night cavorting just aren't your thing), look no further than the Great Park's first ever Family New Year's Eve Party. Say farewell to 2011 with live music, dancing, plenty of great food, plus games and rides for children. Sorry, party people, no booze here! The night's theme is music and art from each decade since the '40s—watch local dance groups perform routines from different eras, while DJs and live bands play tunes from across the decades. And no need to stay up until midnight, the festivities end in plenty of time to get you home safely by 10 p.m.
