Southern Californians generally try to avoid the road on weekends in effort to remain as far from the epic levels of area traffic as possible. But the 38th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach provides an exception. Suddenly we flock to the streets of Long Beach, chug down beers and cheer as reckless drivers skid wildly about normally peaceful city streets. Will they crash? Possibly. Will you be drunk while it happens? Most definitely! And with IZOD IndyCars and their drivers staging a high-speed, wheel-to-wheel battle during this weekend of Formula One racing, you’d better burn rubber on your way to streets of Shoreline Village stat.
