The lull is over. Eugene Htz leads this ragtag band of multiethnic misfits to the Grove of Anaheim to deliver more hard-hitting, accordion-shredding, vodka-swilling action. Living up to their self-proclaimed gypsy punk status, Gogol Bordello seem to be perpetually caravanning across the world, and every once in a while, setting up camp at their NYC stomping grounds. It only took the release of their live album, Axis Mundi, to prompt these nomads back into motion and now theyre blowing through SoCal. If youre at all familiar with the high-paced energy of their everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to music, you'll have a slight idea of the power to expect from their live shows. Gogol Bordello blends an intense cabaret performance with Balkan-influenced punk rock fervor to create a supersonic experience that will leave you breathless and, most likely, hung over.
