Giselle

Straight from St. Petersburg's historic Mariinsky Theatre comes the tragic fairy tale Giselle, brought to life by some of the most elegant and graceful dancers in the world. It's the story of young, dreamy Giselle who falls madly in love with a handsome prince masquerading as a villager. Everything looks happily-ever-after until we learn the scoundrel is just in disguise so he can have a few more jollies before marrying his betrothed. When Giselle discovers the truth, she dies of a broken heart. The entire second act is her haunting the stage with a group of vengeful women spirits taking their revenge on men by making them dance to death. Awesome. Starring Natalia Osipova and Leonid Sarafanov, Giselle comes to the Art Theatre for a Saturday morning screening.
