Flights & Sounds Summer Festival: Aquabats
The OC Great Park wants you to “dance your way into Labor Day” this weekend and is offering up the last of their free summer concerts to make it all just too easy. Thursday night, let crime-fighting supergroup the Aquabats surf you into their New Wave/ska hybrid hemisphere where no evil, corporate pop earworms can survive—and the next day, take a jump and jive time trip back to the days of finely-crafted tunage and curvy, velvet-voiced vixens with Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers for some heinously hot swing to rival any late-summer heat wave. It’s red, white and blue meets red, hot and blues, baby, and a perfect way to cure your hip-hop heebies.
