Evening for Hope and Possibility
Nestled near Victoria Falls in the struggling nation of Zimbabwe, there is a small village that houses some of the countrys most talented wood carving artists. The Ndebele people live without electricity or running water, facing obstacles such as malaria, AIDS and economic turmoil. The Ndebele Art Project aims to aid these people through building health clinics, educating the tribes children, providing bed nets to protect against malaria and providing clean food and water. This Sunday, the Ndebele Art Project will host their 2nd annual Evening of Hope and Possibility to benefit the Jabulani Village in Zimbabwe. The evenings festivities start with dinner followed by music by DJ Dennis Owens (of Goodfoot fame), a fundraising poker tournament, opportunity drawings and a silent auction containing some of the villagers world-famous wood carvings. The ravages of AIDS, malaria and economic hardship have taken their toll on these artists and their families, come take part in this evening of fun for a good cause.
