When Steven Spielberg directed E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial back in the early '80s, he managed to make Drew Barrymore an overnight child star as well as help create one of the highest grossing films of its time. E.T., the next installment in Regency Theater’s classic film night series, is the story that everyone has come to love. Elliot, your average 10-year-old boy, finds a stranded alien whom he decides to keep. With the help of his brother and sister, Elliot must try to keep E.T. a secret from both their mother and the rest of the curious world. A unique bond forms between Elliot and E.T., making it difficult in the end for either to say goodbye. Bring the tissues (and the Reese's Pieces).
