Darkside by Tom Stoppard

At forty years old, Pink Floyd's seminal album Dark Side of the Moon was adapted to a radio play by legendary playwright Tom Stoppard in 2013, and the union could not be more perfect. Dark Side has already drawn so much inspection and analysis about its intricate lyrical mysteries and themes of greed, fear, and the passing of time, while Stoppard's plays have been viewed as existential and philosophical, therefore imbuing a new level of theatrical narrative storytelling only imagined before. Now, it makes its US premiere as a stage play at Garage Theatre where a visual component of this album is finally added, not experienced since its stint as unlikely soundtrack to the Wizard of Oz. Expect the plot to be matter to be as dark and twisted as its source material as you travel down that thrilling rabbit hole.

Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m. Starts: July 31. Continues through Sept. 19, 2015
