Dana Point Turkey Trot

There’s nothing more fun than watching a rafter of gobblers and hens yelping their way down the beachy boulevards just one step ahead of the butcher and two steps ahead of the cranberry sauce. And while such a spectacle would probably draw thousands of onlookers who’d pay to see the 10,000-strong wild bunch, alas, this turkey trot is not actually for turkeys. Instead, a team of healthy, athletically minded runners will “trot” down the coast to raise funds for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Participating means everyone gets a meal on Turkey Day, and that’s definitely something to be thankful for.
