The Festival Ballet Theatre Co. continues its mission to bring classic ballet and world-renowned choreographers and dancers to the county with the impressive Coppélia, a comic yet sentimental ballet choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon with music by Delibes. Based on two E.T.A. Hoffmann stories (from which the Nutcracker was also derived), the tale centers on a mysterious inventor and a life-size dancing doll that comes alive. Featuring guest dancers Megan Fairchild and Andrew Veyette from the New York City Ballet, there are just a million good reasons to subject your children to giant-doll-infatuation—this time, sans sugar-plum fairies.
