Comedy Juice College Night with Kumail Nanjiani

First gaining recognition and acclaim for his one-man UCB show Unpronounceable, Kumail Nanjiani comes to the Irvine Improv this Tuesday for their Comedy Juice showcase. Based in New York, Nanjiani jokes about his highly religious community in Pakistan, and making his way to glamorous Iowa for engineering college, before exploring standup in Chicago and New York.
In the past year, Kumail has appeared on SNL, The Colbert Report, Kimmel, and Letterman, won two ECNYs for best standup and one-man show, and was featured New York Magazine’s “10 comedians to watch” feature as well as Variety’s “10 comics to watch.“ He also just wrapped the role of “Simon” in Greg Berlanti’s LIFE AS WE KNOW IT for Warner Brothers. Kumail is currently writing a pilot loosely based on his life for NBC and Conaco, as well as writing and performing on MICHAEL AND MICHAEL HAVE ISSUES for Comedy Central. Kumail was recently profiled in the NY Times and was the host of this year’s Gotham IFP Awards in New York.
