The indie rock world fell for Clap Your Hands Say Yeah back in 2005 when the Philly band released their self-titled debut album, a series of light and bouncy tracked anchored by Alec Ounsworth's slurred lyrics. Fast forward nearly a decade and CYHSY's latest project, Only Run, achieved a synth-saturated, more frenzied pace—a new direction that points to founding member/vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Alec Ounsworth's independent-or-bust ideals. And it's exactly this DIY ethos that has kept Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's fans eager for what's next, and music critics' interest piqued. Currently on a North American tour before heading off to Japan and Europe in the autumn, CYHSY hits the intimate Constellation Room for their only Orange County performance.
