Back in the early ‘90s, the MC Bat Commander and his cartoonish gang of Aquabats were just beginning to hone their signature blend of punk and ska. Since then, the band's roster has shrunk to just 5 members (compared to 14 in the beginning). The Aquabats' fan base, meanwhile, remains loyal, packing venues for sold-out shows in 2008. In Pomona, the group will join forces with another band of superhero musicians-futuristic “rocket roll” quintet, the Phenomenauts-at the Aquabats' “home away from Aquabania,” the Glass House.
