Bonzo: The Groove Remains the Same

It’s fortuitous that Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s nickname was Bonzo, a Buddhist word for self-immolation. It’s the perfect moniker for one of rock’s most incendiary drummers. It may also have something to do with playing to the more sinister aspects of the heavy-metal image. But whatever the reason, the Galaxy Concert Theatre will host a shit-ton of former skin-slapping greats including Chili Pepper Chad Smith, Vinny Appice of Black Sabbath and the ever-amusing Steven Adler from Guns N’ Roses, who is no doubt reveling in his newfound sobriety and hopefully won’t be kicking in any doors or smashing stuff during the show à la his stint on Celebrity Rehab. Or perhaps he will, but solely in the spirit of rock & roll.
