Benefit Show for Japan

In the wake of Japan’s recent tragedies, Long Beach’s Fourth Street community is coming together to throw a giant benefit show, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to those affected by the tsunami and earthquakes. The list of bands and DJs taking over Alex’s Bar goes on and on, including such favorites as the Black Apples, Grand Elegance and the New Fidelity. Event organizer Frankie Alvaro put together a raffle for the middle of the show that features donated items from many of the shops on Fourth Street. Besides all the music and prizes, there’s also a vintage scooter, motorcycle and car show in the bar’s front parking lot. Go knowing your money will immediately benefit people in need—the owners of Imonni boutique are traveling to Japan to distribute the proceeds.
