All right, Van Halen fans, it's time to declare whether you're on Team Sammy or Team Dave. If it's the former, read no further. But if it's the wacky, split-kicking, Spandexed jester of rock who floats your boat, we've got a post-Christmas present. Van Halen tribute band Atomic Punks, who specialize in rocking the David Lee Roth-era jams, are performing at the House of Blues. And according to some critics, though they may be imitators, they do things right. Roth gushed in his 1997 autobiography that Atomic Punks were “the best tribute to Van Halen ever.” Sounds like a winning way to spend New Year's Day. So go ahead and jump on this one.
