Artsist Lecture: Felipe Ehrenberg

Mexico City’s Felipe Ehrenberg started out as a printmaker but would soon win notice as one of Mexico’s foremost postmodernists and an artist who routinely splattered all simple definitions. He became known as a conceptualist, an activist, an author and more, as well as an early member of the world-renowned Fluxus movement; his Beau Geste Press somehow caught otherwise completely elusive ideas in beautiful handmade print editions. Now he’ll be celebrating his first-ever US retrospective at Long Beach’s MOLAA with a brand-new 24-foot mural created in conjunction with CSULA students—he calls it a “visual score,” and he’ll be delivering a lecture on this and more for free.
