Andy Warhol: Selected Photographs and Prints

Aggrieved playwright Valerie Solanas definitely went overboard shooting the guy. But when it comes to Andy Warhol, either as a person or an artist, people have always had strong opinions. Whether you’re a fan of Polaroids (fresh-faced John McEnroe and then-wife Tatum O’Neal looking eerily like brother and sister), or you just wanna stoke your inner fury, Cal State Fullerton’s Begovich Gallery has something for everyone. On display for the first time are approximately 200 of Warhol’s Polaroid images and 50 intimate black-and-white photos of socialites and others in his world, all donated to the school in 2008. The misandrous (and eventual mental patient) Solanas’ legacy? SCUM—as in Society for Cutting Up Men. And even that is a backronym.

Mondays-Fridays. Starts: Jan. 31. Continues through March 4, 2011
