In the past, the holidays at OCC’s Drama Lab have seen battles on behalf of the Peppermint Prince or against Bootsie and the Christmas Pirates—which sounds like a lost George Clinton production, doesn't it? But this year the annual melodrama comes in the form of Monster Battalion to the Rescue—which sounds like a lost Roger Corman production, doesn’t it? And, naturally, there’s the usual reinforcements: the vaudeville breaks, the holiday choir, the as-promised ice cream and a visit from Santa, ideally crashing triumphantly through a skylight as the Monster Battalion faces their darkest moment … or so one can hope. The whole program is kid- and adult-friendly—and free ice cream for all, regardless of age! Now that’s the holiday spirit.
