A Flea in Her Ear
The age of France's Belle Époque (Beautiful Era) brought works of art and literature to golden heights—one of which was Georges Feydeau's romantic satire A Flea in Her Ear. Written in 1907, Flea has all the delightfully madcap components of a modern day rom-com—when a woman suspects her husband is having an affair due to his avoidance performing, um, husbandly duties, she enlists her best friend to draft a mysterious love letter in an attempt to catch him in the act. But the letter, of course, falls into unintentioned hands, jealously is set ablaze, identities are wildly mistaken, and wonderfully romantic chaos ensues. Opening this weekend at the Long Beach Playhouse, don't miss this hilariously charming French farce.
