48th Annual Cruise of Lights

It may be the only time when “lit up” in Huntington Beach does not refer to staggering along Main Street late at night looking for your car, driving home at 7 mph so as not to attract the city’s baton-happy cops, peeing on your neighbor’s mailbox, treading on your cat and throwing up on the dog, and passing out facedown in the pizza box. The myriad of out-of-town visitors to the annual Cruise of Lights—narrated boat tours through the Huntington Harbour waterways to check out hundreds of brightly decorated houses, boats, docks and decks—will thank you for remembering it’s a warmhearted, civilized family affair. “Ooohs” and “aahs” welcome; booze-soaked technicolor yawns, not.
