Best Place to Learn Traditional Mexican Music Orange County 2013 - El Centro Cultural de México
313 N. Birch St.

Ever wonder what those tiny guitars you see in Mexican folk bands are? They look like they're sized for children, but they're played by adults. They're called jaranas, and the place to learn to play them is at El Centro Cultural de México, where the harp-heavy, Veracruz-style folk music son jarocho (think "La Bamba," but so much more) is taught every Saturday (adults, 11 a.m.; kids, 12:30 p.m.; both FREE).
