Best Hot Sauce Orange County 2013 - Gringo Bandito
The Offspring singer Dexter Holland's Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce long ago left the realm of novelty and is now as ubiquitous in Orange County supermarkets and Mexican restaurants as Tapatío (and better, but that's another story). But becoming an Orange County institution for the second time isn't good enough for Holland, who continues to think of newer, better hot sauces to sell. Each year, he offers a limited-edition sauce that ups the Scoville ante; this year, not content with Tabasco's domination of green hot sauce, he created a green Gringo Bandito that has all of Tabasco's tang, but more heat. Our only complaint? That vintage should be called Green-go Bandito—get it?
