Pat Harvey

Readers' Choice: Steve Edwards

Yeah, so Pat Harvey has been on Channel 2 for a couple of years now, but to us, she'll always be part of the KCAL-TV Channel 9 news juggernaut, always anchoring alongside Jerry Dunphy. Awesomely, Harvey is not a relic, but rather a living legend still at the prime of her game, the Nolan Ryan of newscasting. She still delivers the news seriously but with well-timed smiles, still earns the universal respect of her peers, still brings comfort to all of Southern California in this day of fragmented media. The LA Press Club honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, and she earned the same honor from the Radio and Television News Association in 2010 and was inducted into the National Association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame this year—let's hope this isn't a victory lap, but but the harbinger of many more awards to come.
