This is Garden Grove's longest-running collective, the Orange County outpost of Joe Grumbine and Joe Byron's once-sprawling network of Long Beach dispensaries. It's where their whole sad saga began, the one that ended with their Dec. 17, 2009, arrests and the closure of every collective except this one, which reopened a few days after the raid. Referred to by supporters as the Mothers Theresa of medical marijuana, Byron and Grumbine have provided free food, clothing and medicine to their membership over the years—even wheelchairs and other services for low-income and disabled friends.
