SideDoor doesn't keep hundreds of taps—this isn't an award for most numerous beer selection—but it does keep a well-curated, constantly rotating selection of great beers. At any given time, there are around a dozen beers on tap, ranging from funky Old Speckled Hen to dark Affligems that need to be nursed to a cast of characters from local OC brewers. The beers change as the kegs run out, so every visit reflects a different list. While draft beer is the way to go, there's also a selection of bottles and cans—yes, cans—available, and these tend to be a little bit more stable. The selection leans more toward strong ales and sour beers than IPAs, but there are always a few options available for the hopheads. A couple of pints—real pints—and an order of the addictive beef-fat fries make for a very happy hour, indeed.
