I am crazy about cuisine. I would love to read about restaurants that have the access to global cuisine especially the indigenous ones.
Best Health-Food Store - 2010
A market that specializes in global cuisine, Wholesome Choice has an incredible selection of fresh produce delivered daily (Chinese okra? Check. Loquats? Check), dried fruits and nuts (it boasts one of the largest selections in Orange County), and all those oddball items you just can't find anywhere else. The Irvine location may always be bustling (blame the kiosk at the entrance selling delicious Sangak flatbread at less than three bucks a pop), but what makes this place better than, say, Whole Foods, is the extravagant food court that snakes along the far side of the market. Serving Mediterranean, Persian, Thai, Indian and Turkish cuisines, this healthy-food outpost can satisfy any craving. The gyro plate, piled high with tabouleh salad and hummus, is worth the trip alone. Plus, Wholesome Choice's prices are far better than said mega-chain, and UC Irvine students even get a 5 percent discount—hey, every little bit helps
