Hot yoga has become increasingly popular among fitness enthusiasts in recent years. The Bikram Method, designed for students of all ages and fitness levels, is a demanding series of 26 postures and two breathing exercises in a heated room (up to 110 degrees—if you have balls, expect to sweat them off). At Huntington Beach Hot Yoga, instructor Jason Wilkerson has designed classes that include teachings from Bikram, Hatha Yoga and the Dayton Method. The 90-minute classes are set to music, a key difference from Bikram. There are numerous Bikram studios in OC, but the subtle changes from the norm at Huntington Beach Hot Yoga make it a unique experience. The prices are also very competitive, with an introductory rate of $20 for 20 straight days—that's $1 per class for you math whizzes. The packages here are also cheaper than most studios, with a yearly unlimited package for $997. The benefits of hot yoga are well-worth the price, as each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for improved health, energy and vitality. Designed to be performed in a specific order, the Bikram poses stimulate the organs, glands and nerves, moving freshly oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body. And speaking of stimulating glands, this might not be a bad way to meet that special someone. You'll know your potential mate is health-oriented, as you'll have already seen them sweating enough to fill a swimming pool, bypassing any potential awkwardness on that front.
