Irvine Assemblyman Chuck DeVore is Orange County's social-networking political poster boy, but what does he really do with his Twitter account? Repost articles, link to his Facebook and get into good-natured flame wars. It's a great start, but he could learn a little from a smaller fish in a smaller pond: Dana Point City Councilman Joel Bishop. Spend a few days following him, and you'll feel like you know the guy—which, after all, is how politicians want you to feel. How does he do it? Constant tweeting, flavored with a unique mixture of middle-aged-person-discovers-social-networking syndrome, glad-handing 2.0 and, most endearingly, genuine geekiness. "The toll road board meeting spoke about Facebook and Twitter today!"
