As you walk into the Lab, past the encased red Buddha and the busy Crew Salon stylists, you're likely going to overlook the rollaway shelves of this independent newsstand. The spotty white shelves are easy to miss, but it's hard not to indulge in glossy tattoo photos or European fashionistas. Standard Issue has everything from art and design magazines to food periodicals. From time to time, the stand even has listening stations featuring local musicians. The minimalist Gastronomica mag, filled with prosy articles that explore worldly grub, is sure to bring out the inner foodie of any hipster.
