'The OC Show'

Some folks are blessed with many talents. Consider Irvine resident Cameron Jackson. He's a well-respected private detective. A political junkie. A bicycle enthusiast. With his wife, Nancy—a veteran public defender—the proud parent of two youngsters. And on Friday mornings, he's the host of KUCI's feisty, libertarian-bent public-affairs broadcast, The OC Show. Jackson insists he's still learning the host gig, but that hasn't stopped local heavyweights such as new Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, Irvine Mayor Beth Krom and district-attorney's-office spokeswoman Susan Kang Schroeder from taking his questions. We also appreciate Jackson's production skills. The only thing better than the musical introduction to his show—the opening theme from the Harrison Ford action flick Air Force One, with Jackson's booming, voice-of-God voice-over—is Jackson's sense of humor. The mention of FBI-indicted ex-Sheriff Mike Carona's name during the show triggers banjo music and the redneck shout Miiiiiiiiike Carona! Beautiful.
