Bay Theatre - CLOSED
Some people enjoy the scent of freshly popped popcorn with their movies. We do, too, but we prefer that popcorn to come with a side of must. The aroma of age evokes so many memories: Grandma's house, Granddad's slippers—you know, old stuff. Which is why the Bay Theatre in Seal Beach is the perfect viewing zone for those who love to reminisce. The Bay boasts a single screen with seats that stink of dust and a wobbly movie projector that produces a romantic crackling sound, making you feel like you're part of something historical. The ticket prices range from $6 to $8, and because the place frequently screens independent, foreign and classic films, attending a movie in this 1947 building is equivalent to sensory time travel.
