Best Counterprotest (2008)

The Merchants of Main Street

Fed up with weekly anti-communist protesters who demanded a boycott of Garden Grove-based Vietnamese-language newspaper Viet Weekly, local merchants on historic Main Street took matters into their own hands this spring. Just as protesters began their ritual of blaring martial music and chanting patriotic songs celebrating the defunct Republic of South Vietnam, the merchants started blasting "The Star-Spangled Banner" and Elvis music. How's that for a hunka-hunka burnin' free speech?
