Van Halen

The top reason to go see Van Halen at the Honda Center: “Hot For Teacher,” one of the greatest songs ever laid down, played live by the outrageous, eccentric minds who created it. When A Different Kind of Truth, the group's first album in 14 years, came out in February, fans exalted at the prospect of the rock icons returning to form, once again fronted by the possibly-insane showman David Lee Roth. And once they got past “Tattoo,” the record's abominable first single, they found songs like “Stay Frosty” and “As Is” that showcased Eddie's whiplash guitar work and old school VH charisma. But that's not why you want to see Van Halen in concert—it's to remember the golden era of feathered hair and spandex high kicks. And maybe see them fight onstage.
