The folks at La Mirada Theatre sure do love Johnny Cash and American roots music, and thus, seem a perfect home for the traveling Upright Cabaret, an LA-based troupe that claims the likes of Alan Cumming, Neil Patrick Harris and Paula Cole as alumni. This season, the show doesn’t have those Hollywood names but does offer the talents of Brenna Whitaker, Doug Carpenter and former Miss Anaheim, Jill Burke, who’ll be taking you down the Country Roads of music by icons Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson—soul style. We’re not sure what that means, but it’s gotta be some kind of new experience.
