The Manhattan Transfer Christmas Show

Nat King Cole. Vince Guaraldi. Some classic artists do the potentially deadly music of the holidays just right, including the now legendary Manhattan Transfer, whose sparkling showbiz jazz fusion makes Christmas swing. The current incarnation of this 45year old acknowledged contemporary master quartet of jazz, classic pop and vocal stylings sings everything, from standards to torch songs to ironic TV show themes. Only now these ambassadors of New York cool dress up the holiday classics in gently multilayered harmonies, bringing a sophisticated repurposing of songs required at this musical time of year, whether a jolly "Jingle Bells" bebop or a somber "Silent Night." Stylish and classy, it’s fun to hum along, snapping your fingers and imagining yourself up there with them, making the holidays hipper.
