Strega Nona

Forget a good-ol’-fashioned burning at the stake—Tomie dePaola’s tale of Strega Nona is about a hospitable witch who, instead of scaring the people of her small town, helps them with their ailments. Though most of the title character’s crafts may be simple (matchmaking, curing headaches and ridding people of warts), she does have one inexplicable device: a magic pasta pot. See what happens when Strega Nona’s clumsy assistant accidentally floods the entire town with pasta while she’s away in this stage adaptation of the award-winning children’s story (and bring the Parmesan).
